This app helps users quickly check bike availability before borrowing and verify docking space availability at their destination during a ride.
You can use the app in the following two ways:
1. For users with fixed routes
If you frequently ride along the same route, go to the “Favorite Stations” page and tap the “+” button in the top-right corner to create a station group.
For example, if you often start from stations near your home, you can create a group named “Home” and add two to four nearby YouBike stations (or more) into that group.
After saving, each time you open the app, you can instantly see the number of available bikes and docking spaces at those stations, allowing you to make quick decisions.
2. For users without fixed routes
If your riding locations vary, simply open the “Map” page to view real-time bike and docking availability near your current location.
Data in the “Favorite Stations” page is based on stations you manually add.
If you have not added any stations yet, no information will be displayed.
Alternatively, you can use the “Map” page to check nearby stations directly.
The bottom-right corner of the map includes layer controls that allow you to show or hide:
If you only want to see YouBike stations, simply turn off the “Public Restroom” layer.
If the map still feels cluttered, you can adjust the number of displayed items in the “About” page under “Map Display Limit.”
This is not an official app. It was developed as a utility tool to help users quickly determine bike and docking availability.
The QR code unlocking feature belongs to the official YouBike system, and the relevant APIs are not publicly available, making this functionality currently impossible to implement.
If future integration with the official system becomes available, additional features such as trip start/end integration and automatic ride completion could be supported.
The statistics feature was designed to help review ride history and analyze route efficiency, particularly for commuting optimization.
If your routes are rarely repeated, this feature may be less relevant for your usage.
The data used in this app comes from the official open data provided by the Taipei City Government and New Taipei City Government for the YouBike system.
While the data is accurate and provided by official sources, it is not updated in real time. During busy periods or when bikes are frequently being rented or returned, the actual number of bikes or docks may differ from what is shown in the app.
If you would like to check how recent the data is, you can view the last update time on the "Favorite Stations" page. When you add a station to your favorites, the latest data update time will also be displayed for reference.
